Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation Review

Well, how are ye on this fine Sunday? (or whatever day it is when you read this!)

Today I've got a wee foundation review for you. The Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation and I got the shade Ivory.

So without further ado I'm going to get on with it.

The Packaging:

It's a glass bottle with a plastic lid, its small and compact and I quite like it.

The application

Sorry the pic is a tad blurry but the applicator is a teardrop shaped dropper. The bottle tells you to drop the foundation onto your finger and apply but quite frankly if you were waiting to do your whole face with this technique the product would have expired before you finish.

I find the best way is to wipe the wand on the back of your hand and that is one layer to me. I then dot it all over my face, blend it in with my hands and then buff over with a brush when I'm done.

I'm not really a fan of this applicator. What is wrong with a pump people?? The dropper seems a bit gimmicky to me.

The Colour

The foundation comes in 7 shades, from what I can see, and I got the lightest shade which is Ivory. It's definitely a yellow toned shade. It's not exactly pale pale either so if you are like me or paler then it's probably not going to work well. I find I have to blend it down my neck a little.

The Finish/Coverage

The website says that the coverage is 'build able but still feels natural' and I suppose I would agree. It is such a weird texture to me, it glides on really well and it is lightweight and skin like which is good.

My problem with it which seems to be the case with most Maybelline foundations that I try is that it clings to my dry bits and my little fluffy bits and looks awful (you can kind of see that in the pic but not as clear as I'd like). So if you have normal skin then you'll be grand but if, like me, you are far from perfect then be wary of that.

It also probably doesn't cover as much as I'd like it to but that's personal preference.

The Wear Time

The foundation lasts well for about 4 hours and after that it starts to separate on my, gather around my nose and just not look great. When I've tried to touch it up without adding product/re settle it like you can with some foundations, it tends to wipe off.

All in all I'm not overly impressed with this foundation, it definitely doesn't compare to my favourite Rimmel 25 hour nude foundation and I think I'll be passing it along to someone else to try.
