Review: Sleek Matte Lipstick in Vamp

Oh dear goodness, I have not done a review on this blog in so long. I've been feeling a wee bit meh about it all but I'm getting over that and I have so many things I could review for you guys.
This one is one that I couldn't not Share!

It's the Sleek True Colour Matte Lipstick in Vamp

It comes in the little cute matte black packaging that all sleek lipsticks come which is perfect for just throwing in your makeup bag or handbag. I really like it and it's really befitting of the brand 'sleek'.

I already know the matte formula from sleek is really good as Mystic, from the same range. is one of my favourite lipsticks. I have been chasing a really good dark red as my Rimmel Kate Moss 107 isn't doing it for me quite so much at the moment, so when I saw this baby in super drug I had to have it.

The Formula, as I have already mentioned, is matte. It glides on well and isn't a dragging, drying matte but it can cling a tiny bit to any dry patches so make sure you exfoliate and hydrate your kisser before using these.

The colour is a deep red with almost brown undertones, It has a wee tiny bit of a 90s feel but not over the top which is good if, like me, you are not totally sold on that. It is really opaque and pigmented and doesn't really require any building up, another reason why I'm reaching for it over my 107.

Mind the posing!

When applied to the lips it comes off redder than in the bullet but it still has that depend tone to it as you can see in the pic above.

It doesn't bleed so I don't feel like I need to pair it with a lipliner and the lasting power is pretty decent. I wore it at work for about 5 hours before I felt like I needed a top up (and probably didn't). When it wears off it leaves a nice stain so you can get away with it for longer.

Here it is after about 3 hours on my lips:

You can see that it has faded a wee bit after me eating my breakfast but has also stained so it wasn't 100% necessary to top up.

So all in all I really like this lippy, I think it's perfect for autumn/winter and is my go to seasonal red at the moment especially for work or a longer day as I know it won't end up all round my face. It is only £4.99 so a complete bargain and you can get it from Superdrug here
