Day to Night Makeup using 5 Items!

As you guys already know, I travel back and forth back home to Northern Ireland on a semi regular basis and when I do I only take hand luggage. With that comes limited space for makeup.
So when I was contacted and informed of a competition being held by SACO apartments I jumped at the chance to enter.

The brief asked to create 2 look from 5 makeup items, one daytime and one night time.
I was slightly nervous that I had to create 2 very different looks, I'm by no means a pro MUA, but I was up for a challenge and here's how I did it.

I picked versatile products that were buildable and of course a do it all palette:
Naked 2 palette,
Sleek rose gold blush,
Rimmel lasting finish Nude foundation,
Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Boom Chica Boom and
Benefit they're real Mascara.

I started off with one pump of foundation and blended that all over my face.
I then went in with half baked from the Naked palette all over my lid. It's just a nice shimmery gold and normally forms part of my everyday makeup routine.

Next I took tease from the palette, a matte taupe shade, and blended that into my crease.
After that was done I took the same colour, tease, on a small angled brush and filled in my brows.

A slick of your favourite mascara, a little bit of blush and it's time for lips.

To get two different lip looks from the same lippy was my challenge. I decided that for a daytime look I'd apply the lip crayon to my finger and dab onto my lips. That was me finished:

I pondered on what the easiest way to take this look for day to night would be in as little effort as possible because quite often on a weekend away you are busy doing things and don't want to spend hours doing your makeup.

I decided to build up slightly more coverage on my foundation, added a bit more blush, another coat of mascara and more lippy straight from the bullet.
The main feature was using Blackheart from the Naked 2 palette as a liner on a dampened angled brush:

I smudged a bit of busted onto my lower lash line and created a dramatic winged liner and the finished look was this:

Picture it with my hair done and a nice dress and it will look a lot better.

I hope you like my look and get some inspiration for any future trips away!
