First Impressions: Makeup Rumours-The Lipstick Edition

On Wednesday I brought you my first impressions on the New brand Makeup Rumours' Nailpolish collection. I mentioned that I had been sent a £10 voucher code to use on the site and that I got a few things to show you.

This post, as you can tell from the title is about the lipstick collection (£1 each)- the 4 that I got.

So let me show you the packaging-

They come in this rectangular black packaging with a wee window so you can see the colour a bit through. To be honest I'd rather the window wasn't there- to me it cheapens it a bit. If they had names the colours and put them on the bottom I would be a lot happier. The writing on the packaging is nice and the quality is OK for the £1 price tag.

The colours

I've had to guess which is which based on the website as the numbers/shades weren't on there but here goes:

Shades L-R

Shade 13- This is a purpley berry colour. I got this for autumn/winter times. It is a lovely colour, applies nicely to the lips and it is very creamy but the creaminess means it only lasts a couple of hours but leaves a bit of a stain. I wore it to work the other day and got compliments on it so that's always a good thing.

Shade 4- This is a bubblegum pink shade I put a pic of me wearing this on Instagram the other day and got compliments too. Its a wee bit drier than the purple formula and applies a wee bit more patchy but it is lovely on and would be great for those of you who do like that Barbie, bubblegum pink colour.

Shade 6- This is a lovely darker, almost raspberry, pink. It has the same sort of formula as Shade 13 and applied smoothly when I swatched. I haven't worn this one yet but I'm definitely going to give it a go this week.

Shade 3- This feels like a mix between the formula of shade 13 and shade 4 which is quite nice. The colour is a more dusty, dark Rosy pink colour, which I thought would be lovely for autumn days and this one, like shade 13, has left a bit of a stain after removal so It would last that wee bit longer.

Overall Thoughts

There is a decent range of colours and the pigmentation is good but the price definitely shows through. I find it difficult to find a decent lipstick at this price range across a couple of brands but I have had nicer formulas.

The taste is a bit waxy and is reminiscent of the makeup I would have bought with my pocket money when I was 12/13 but, like anything, you get what you pay for and it's worth a go for £1 each or less with the 10% voucher code loz10off or any other voucher codes they have.
