The event was organised by the lovely Kizzy and was open to members of the public, invited bloggers etc to attend. I was a bit nervous since it was my first 'event' so I was glad my friend Andrea was over for the weekend as I was celebrating my birthday too.
I'd never been to Baracoa before. On arrival there was a little red carpet which was a nice touch. The room was set out with a runway, a front row (which is where Andrea and I were sat -exciting!) and lots of other seats around. Kizzy and her helpers had done themselves proud but they had a good canvas to work with as it is a nice bar.
The Show and The Brands
The show featured a number of brands contained in House of Fraser E.G. BiBa, French Connection, Levis etc. The models were fantastic and the makeup was amazing- I believe done by benefit. I took about a million photos but didn't think to take down the brands of each of the outfits- did I mention there was free whisky from Johnny walker red label and cocktails were 2 for 1? oops! I took about 200 photos- yes really 200 but I'll just show you a few of my favourites /some photos that turned out OK with the lighting on my phone haha! There was a variety of fashion, swimwear and topless men in Jeans- a particular favourite of mine. Something for everyone! The models were all shapes and sizes which was refreshing.
The show also featured some lovely beauty stands, which of course you'll know I was excited about! We had Benefit, Decleor and Bobbi Brown. I particularly enjoyed the benefit counter, the girl I was chatting with was just lovely and you could tell how passionate and excited she was about the brand and makeup in general- something I can relate to.
The Goody Bag
Now this bit I was very excited for. It contained some lovely skincare samples from Clarins, Shiseido and Decleor and some perfume samples from Marc Jacobs etc. And the bags were pink!!
Like I said before it was organised by Kizzy (twitter link) who works for Baracoa and I had spoken to her on twitter so it was lovely to meet her in person. I got to meet some other lovely bloggers such as Faith from Music and Eyeliner (link) Sally from Wheelingalong24 (link) Carrieanne from Beauties Unlocked (link) Michelle (I blooming hope that's your name) from Satchels and Pearls (link) and others who's first names are escaping me as I met them post whiskey and cocktails lol Mode-lily and The Tech Bunny (sorry lovelies and sorry if I missed anyone). It was so lovely to meet some of the people I've been #bbloggers etc chatting with on twitter and great to see how cool and expanding the Yorkshire blogging scene is.
I have to say the icing on the cake though, was the Mc Donalds at the end of the night and laughing and Andrea getting fawned by an Italian Man!
All in all it was a brilliant Event, a big thanks to Kizzy, Baracoa and House of Fraser and I hope to attend lots more like it in the future!
